BMTS TECHNOLOGY MILESTONES

2022

Successful start of production of new turbo technologies for modern, fuel-efficient engine generations at the St. Michael (Austria), Novi Sad (Serbia) and Ramos Arizpe (Mexico) plants. In addition, the one-millionth rotor rolled off the production line at the Jinan (China) and Novi Sad plants. A special milestone in 2022 was the sealing of cooperation with the port city of Taicang, where high-tech factories and advanced research and development laboratories will be built in the future. BMTS Technology also established the new China Sourcing Center (CSC) to make the global supply chain even more efficient.

2021

BMTS doubles capacity at Jinan, China component plant as part of realigned global production network. Additionally, BMTS strengthens it’s position in the aftermarket business.

2020

Entering the existing turbocharger market as a challenger in 2012, BMTS has achieved a ramp-up that has been highly regarded throughout the industry. Now, just 8 years after the first SOP at the St. Michael plant, the ten millionth turbocharger rolled off the line. The BMTS plant in Shanghai also celebrated a major milestone with the three millionth turbo produced. As the latest addition to the global BMTS production network, the new plant in Novi Sad (Serbia) started operations.

2019

BMTS expands its global footprint with the opening of new plants in Jinan and Ramos Arizpe; a new plant announced for Novi Sad. The company will use the new locations to expand its global capacity and better serve customers. Implemented vertically integrating casting in Dongying. Global expansion is supported by innovative technology solutions.

2018

The Bosch and MAHLE groups sell their joint venture to supermajority FountainVest Partners (FountainVest) in March 2018. The company operates under the name of BMTS Technology from this point on. BMTS should continue to grow steadily and should be able to consolidate its position in the global automotive supply market under the leadership of the new management and as a result of the company’s technological expertise, its portfolio of renowned customers and continued favourable market growth forecasts for exhaust turbochargers.

2015

BMTS opens a plant in Shanghai for the purposes of satisfying the high demands from the market in China and to be closer to customers. Besides manufacturing, the Chinese company also provides a comprehensive range of services to ensure optimum customer care. The location is also home to teams that are responsible for quality assurance, sales, simulation, design, application and validation. The new location further boasts its own research and development centre and has already demonstrated its capabilities by ramping up its production figures during the initial years of operation.

2014

The one millionth exhaust turbocharger rolls off the production line in St. Michael.

2012

A plant is opened in St. Michael ob Bleiburg, Austria, where the first large-scale series projects for cars and commercial vehicles are realised in support of headquarters in Stuttgart. This branch becomes BMTS Technology’s main plant for series production in Europe.

2010

BMTS enters the turbocharger market for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Groundbreaking ceremony at plant St. Michael.

2008

Robert Bosch GmbH and MAHLE GmbH establish the joint venture of Bosch Mahle Turbosystems GmbH in response to the automotive industry’s great demand for a strong European partner in the field of turbocharging. The introduction of direct-injection technology for petrol engines at this time opens up a new broad market for the sale of exhaust turbocharger technology.
